It s awesome truly. finally out of a 20 yr mistake....
It s like a little private universe all its own. Everybody on staff is super well versed on all aspects of the mini community ... here on these 2 Hopkins blocks. We are treated with warmth and respect.so many families all well behaving together.!!! LOL!!! TRACE MAKE my day and after my sons super creative introduction of Apollo 13 our service dog residents all call him by name and have discontinued to instantly jump back 15 feet when crossing paths. He s getting used to it here with not too much yard or being able to put his head on couch and stare out living room window for each family member coming home...we re working on barking..As best we can .I ll bear with us...everything is so clean and it has a almost hotel housekeeping staff ambience. Around here. I m really pinching myself each day to see if it s really true I m living so nicely. Thanks so much Tyler for fast perfection of maintenance for us. The grounds are well-maintained. Management arranges some enjoyable social events for the residents. Hopkins is a pleasant city in which to reside; there are some very enjoyable local activities and events, such as the arts center, the movie theater, various retail shops, the library, the grocery store, restaurants, the city park with band shell, the summer farmers market, which are all within walking distance of Hopkins plaza. Great location! Hopkins is a fun city and small so its easy to get around. There are community activities, a variety of restaurants, ... a good movie theater with low cost tickets, the arts center is awesome -great entertainment and community classes. Hopkins is the home of a top quality public performing arts high school, Main Street School of Performing Arts. There are quality car repair shops, storage facilities, banks, grocery store (Driskills), exercise places, hair salons, small fun shops, a variety of businesses such as acupuncture, massage, accountants, dentists, Hopkins Vision Clinic, ACE Hardware, and more. Its close to HI 7 & Knollwood Mall; its off Excelsior Blvd., giving access to many St. Louis Park businesses including Methodist Hospital & Park Nicollet Clinic; & its very close to HI 169. In the complex, they take very good care of the outdoor swimming pool. Snow-removal efforts are excellent - they keep the walk ways cleared and salted. I've lived here for 5 years now & I've met some wonderful neighbors. Throughout the year there are several fun activities for the residents to get to know each other and local city service personnel often attend. PROS: Location, Location, Location, you can't get a better spot in Hopkins to live! I think Hopkins Plaza is a great place ... to live. The community is friendly, I have never had a bad experience with anyone who has lived near me or around me. The staff at Hopkins Plaza is super kind and efficient. Anytime I have had to call they fix the problems within 24 hours usually. Cons: There's really nothing wrong with the property. I guess in my own personal opinion I would recommend putting either addition windows in the 2 bedrooms or an additional air conditioning unit in the two bedrooms. This last summer was rough! I have lived here one year. I am really happy we chose this apartment building as opposed to something closer to Minneapolis. ... There are a few express buses on 7th/Excelsior and 7th/Main that run during rush hour, which is a huge plus for commuters. Living within walking distance to the budget theater, the library, grocery, and restaurants is great. There are a lot of children living in the complex, but it is typically a quiet apartment and I rarely hear our neighbors (unless they are in the hallway or outside with the windows open). It's true that the apartments do have some dated features (our carpeting and plumbing fixtures could use some updating), but it makes up for it with large closets and rooms. The biggest drawback was when we moved in, that our apartment smelled like smoke from the previous tenants. Hopkins Plaza offered to shampoo our carpets again, which is a nice gesture but not particularly helpful (shampooing doesn't get out smoke smell out of carpeting-- baking soda, vacuuming, airing out, washing walls, and time is what worked for us). Location, Location, Location, you can't get a better spot in Hopkins to live! The community is friendly, I have never had a bad experience with anyone who has lived near me or around me. The staff at 151 on 8 is super kind and efficient. Anytime I have had to call they fix the problems within 24 hours usually.
